I once had a prosecuting attorney run me through a "practice on what I would say in court." I did pretty.....or at least it began pretty good, and then he ask a question caused me to stutter..... His question was, - what made you think the suspect had marijuana in his car? Oh, you smelled it...... That is very interesting, so tell me officer Slinkard, - how exactly is it that you know what an illegal drug smells like?
Uh, uh - well, uh hmm, well........ Seriously how do you answer that question? And that is when he pulled out a joint, a lighter and fired up an illegal drug right there in the classroom. He then insisted every person to a few deep breaths making sure you smelled the burning marijuana plant. He then provided all of us a signed document that said we had taken part in an exercise burning pot.....and thus were an expert of knowing the smell. I remember the joke he told,.....it is very important we do this so Slinkard doesn't have to say, "......well back in high school......."
I tell this story to prove my level of expertise..... and now I would like to ask you if you ever travel on interstate I-55 in Missouri? My expert opinion says there is a large amount of marijuana at mile marker 201.5 on I-55.......
There is so much in the area you can smell it going either North or South, and.....every time you go through the area. I have been through there in the morning, noon, afternoon, evening and devil hours of the day.... regardless of the time or day of the year, the smell of pot fills the air.
I only mention mile marker 201.4-6 because it is always there.....but in much of the St. Louis area pot nearly always present. Chances are you will smell pot when you are stopped at a traffic lot, visiting public school outdoor sporting events or other venues.....
It will be curious to see the impact of wide spread drug use in a generation or two.... What is it like in your area? By all means share your experience......even if you have to think way back to high school.
