We all live in the same house.

We all live in the same house. Story time: .......every family has the same stories to tell. When you hear others talking it doesn't take long before their family's jokes, punishments and hatreds all seem to rhyme with your life.

A coach for decades I noticed everyone faces the same issues. Seriously, people are so often embarrassed by their family, afraid others will learn the deepest family secrets that haunt their very existence.....

This fear isn't just kids mortified by old people parents, you know, those people so old they can't possibly be cool. After all they are ancient, some over 40 years old...... The young are most likely clueless their parents fear the world will realize their children are destined to be homeless, or serial killers....and probably both.

Let me tell you a little secret: if an event has 10 kids on a team taking part in an game Saturday morning, half the parents screamed at least once to speed the kids out the door. The other half made such a scene last week their offspring had a touch more urgency getting out the door. But, at least a couple forgot something and a parent is rushing back to the house to grab a water bottle, shoes or a glove of some kind.

I promise you mom screamed, dad cursed and threatened this is the last year we are doing this shit as a family. Not just one family, every family got angry over something. Hell, it's a 50/50 bet one parent suggested a divorce wasn't out of the question, and I guarantee every parent hates the coach....especially his own wife.

Kids always think it's only their family..... but we all have that uncle that shows up drunk, knows everything about everything and trolls the umpires all day. What you don't have an uncle....ok, then my money says your grandmother is a KAREN with the knowledge of pissant and the manners of a Real Housewife from television.......

Parents are shocked, stunned.....and will quickly secretly question if other adults are screwing with them when they make comments about how good their children are....... When one of your teammate's parents goes on and on about how polite you are, noting you are always the first to volunteer to help, not to mention respectful of their home....your parents at first think someone is punking them. Hell, let's be honest on the car ride home they will talk in front of you asking each other if it's even possibly true their children are good people......

Bottom line, kids are little shits to their families and parents will go off on their own children worse than a fat guy attacks a Chinese buffet.

Like I said, we all live in the same house..... grab me an egg roll.
