Salvation on time

Story time: .........do you understand church? I am amazed that some folks walk out of church not understanding what they heard.... How?

.....most concepts of Christianity are pretty basic, love God - honor God - follow God's commandments. I mean how hard can it be with just 10 rules.

Which brings me to one of my pet peeves, preachers that feel a need to say the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and to recap....over one more time. A great priest takes just a few minutes to drive home the point, then wraps up his message. You then can spend as much time as you personally need to reflect upon what he said.

OMG, the absolute worst are the ministers that cover their main concept and then spend 35 minutes saying it another way...... the sky is blue, the sky is light blue, the sky is dark blue, the sky is azure, the sky is cerulean, the sky is sapphire, the sky is cobalt, the sky is indigo, the sky is cyan, the sky is aquamarine, the sky is baby blue, the sky is periwinkle, the sky is powder blue, the sky is turquoise, the sky navy blue, the sky is royal blue and my personal favorite the sky is teal today........

I can imagine it's not just me, watching my watch......thinking OMG, we could have wrapped this up 30 minutes ago. Make your points and we can all go about our way understanding to love, honor and obey God.

Are these pastors getting paid by the hour....or maybe it's by the number of words they use.....? All ministers would like you to think they are moved by the word.... Or maybe I should say these men of God have permitted the Holy Spirit to speak through them.....

We all hope that is the case, but isn't it funny how the Holy Spirit has such a sense of time? No, seriously have you ever noticed churches today are more regular than you are after salad and sauerkraut day? Think about it, the Holy Spirit asked them to sing the same number of songs each week, pass the plate at the same time (conveniently after a thumper of a song) and the sermon ends within 30 seconds of the assigned time.

The ending of the sermon is critical...... Why? One of two reasons, the first being a fried chicken dinner, or the second being time to clear the parking lot before the next service......
