Remember when you got pregnant in college and gave birth to a puppy?

Story time:.......have you ever gotten in trouble? Most people have gotten in trouble at one time or another.... maybe you broke curfew and your parents grounded you.... or maybe you got in trouble at school and had to serve detention..... or God forgive maybe you killed someone and went to prison.....

Did you notice every example I gave had one thing in common? What was it? Grounded, detention or prison....what do they share in common?..................

If you said the common link is the person that got into trouble paid the price for their actions you would be right. We have a lot of freedom in our lives, but that doesn't mean we are not held accountable.

Have you ever done anything and gotten away with it? I have.... I promise you I have done a thing or two that people might frown upon..... Some folks might call them felonies.... but we don't really need to discuss those do we...... However, the truth is if things would have gone differently....well we could be telling an entirely different story. Or at the very least talking through bars.....

There are other things most of us have done that could have altered our lives..... Have you ever had a pregnancy scare....maybe you were in college or even high school and suddenly you found yourself scared to death you were about to have a baby well before you planned on it...... Why, did you not understand sex can lead to a child?

Of course you knew that could happen....but sex feels good and like daddy always said, "....a hard dick has no conscience......"

And here are where the lines get blurry...... Grounded - Detention - Prison punish you, but abortion, the taking of an innocent life is often used to prevent your life from being a little harder.... Every single day someone in your hometown is probably taking a human life so they can have an easier time of things.....

In college a couple of years before graduation my girlfriend and I had a little scare.... I remember thinking holy shit what are we going to do.. how will we ever get through school... We got lucky, .....maybe or maybe it was the worst thing to have ever happened and we lost a child..... What we did not do was end that child's life to make our lives easier......

If you follow my post you know I have been writing about a mother (with triplets a couple of years old) who recently discovered she is pregnant again and asked for advice if she should abort her child to make life easier..... As the father of twins, and triplets I offered my thoughts, saying I cannot imagine our lives without 1 of our kids.... and then continued to say, it was not easy. Oh, hell no......at one point in time we have 5 kids under that age of 3 1/2 years old. It was a challenge, some days it seemed like life was just butts and bottles and butts and bottles and then spit up and butts and bottles and spit up....and oh holy shit we need to buy more diapers.....

It was hard.....and the GREATEST thing in life all at the same time!!! I will forever believe killing a baby to make your life easier is the act of a coward..... But here is what most of those commenting on my thoughts failed to note: The pregnant mother was seeking advice.

Yes, she has triplets....and she is scared and she turned to facebook seeking someone to tell her the easy way. Clearly she was seeking out some lost soul to say, "......kill that baby, it's going to be hard and no one will blame you......" Maybe instead of turning to facebook she could have pretended to talk to the baby growing inside her belly asking is life worth the struggle...... or do you just want to get thrown away.....

What have you done in life that meant anything that wasn't hard..... What have you done that didn't take work..... Did you work to learn how to sit up, roll over....stand and then walk?

As a baby how many times did you fall before you finally learned to walk and then run..... You couldn't speak when you were first born, or read....or write.... you couldn't feed yourself..... Hell, you were not able to wipe your own ass..... yes, life was hard. And yet you managed to accomplish so much

Or maybe this poor mother came here looking for someone to say, "....you are stronger than you know..... you can do this - don't kill your child, embrace them and enjoy the blessing of a child......

I started this with a picture of puppies....because the one thing all human pregnancies have in common is the produce a human life. No one had to much fun,.... or an accident ......or was even raped and produced anything but a child. It's food for thought.

I pray that mother is not a coward..... I pray that in 18 years she attends her child's high school graduation and thinks....it wasn't easy but we made it and then looks over at her older children and sees the pride they have in their eyes for their little brother/sister and the family can't imagine what life would be like without any of them......
